Emergency Entrance to the Upper Fields!
Posted April 21, 2022

The Fox Chase Elementary School has elected to lock their school yard (yes, it not a parking lot) when school is not in session.  We are not sure how long the school wishes to continue this recent practice.  Please be advised that there is an emergency entrance for ambulances and fire trucks to enter the upper fields.  That entrance for emergency responders is through the driveway located between the recreation center building and the pool.

Age Cut-Off Date Change For Travel Baseball and Softball Players!
Posted on 2/1/2024
Yesterday, during our scheduled meeting with the NEAA (Northeast Athletic Association), formally known as the Northeast Peanut League, we have learned that they are changing their player placement age cut-off dates for this upcoming season, which do not align with our registration module dates.  This is not alarming as it would only effect a few travel baseball and softball players who participate in the NEAA league.  The Philadelphia Parks and Recreation league and our in-house programs age cut-off remains the same, May 1.  Players will continue to register under our current guidelines and adjustments, if any, will be made as we get closer to season.

Sorry, no personal checks.  MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express credit cards are accepted.

* Both boys and girls must be at least 4 years old on or before May 1, 2024 in order to register.

The online registration will not allow you to make a mistake when registering your child/children.  It is based on the “Team Placement Age Cut-Off Dates,” that are listed below on this page.

If you experience any difficulties in registering and require assistance, please call 866.981.2583 during normal business hours.

Be advised that late registrations will NOT be accepted unless we are short players to field a team.  Divisions, when filled, will close.  Each division has a pre-established maximum player count.  Once the maximum player count is satisfied, the division closes and the child is placed on a waiting list should that occur before the established registration close date.  Once that happens, those on the waitlist are not released until we have enough players to establish another team.

How to Register

To register for any sport within Fox-Rok Athletic Association, go to www.foxrokaa.com and click on “Register” that is located in the upper right hand corner of our home page.   You will then need to click on “Create New Account or “Login” if you have already created an account.  As a reminder, you must first have an account before you can register your child/children.  The process is easy.

Once you have created an account, you then need to list your child/children before you can choose a program to play in.  Select “Add Participant.”  Enter the child’s name and complete all of the required fields.  If you have more children to register, don’t select “Next.”  Select “Add Another Participant.”  Once you have added all of your children, you then select “Next.”

After you have entered all of your children only then will the system allow you to select the available program for that child or children.  Make your selection.  Continue to complete the necessary fields until you have completed your order.  You will receive an email confirmation after you have successfully completed the process.

After the first time you register your child/children, the system will remember your information!  You will only need to update a few lines as opposed to starting from scratch when registering for all other Fox-Rok sports.

Please note, if you want to coach or volunteer in any way, you must create an account online and state your interest.  The program is set up to ask if you have a desire to volunteer and in what role.

To get on the mailing list, you must create an account online.

If you experience any difficulties in registering and require assistance, please call 866.981.2583 during normal business hours.  After hearing the prompt press 2.  After hearing the next prompt press 2 again.  Tell them that you are a parent trying to register your child for baseball/softball with the Fox-Rok Athletic Association.

Concerning Registrations!

Registration cutoff dates are established mainly to ensure that uniforms and the necessary equipment needs can be identified and ordered in time to be received before the start of the playing season.  This is the case for each sport offering at Fox-Rok A.A.  Occasionally we have situations where we may require additional players to prevent a team or teams from folding and will solicit players by posting these openings on our website.  That is the only time we will accept registrations after the established cutoff date.  This website provides ample notice time for registration of all sports.  On our website, at the top of each sport page, it states the month when registrations are held and the duration of the season.  It is provided for your planning purposes.

Still have questions?  Please contact Tim Eck our Director of Baseball at [email protected] or via telephone at 267.246.7927.

Additional Equipment Needed for 2024!

All boys on travel teams are required to purchase their own uniform pants from the Fox-Rok Athletic Association. If you already have them, you do not need to purchase them again unless they are in unusable condition and/or fit.  The cost for new travel uniform pants is $30.00 and belts are $5.00.  They can be purchased during baseball cleanup day at our Snack Shack (concession stand), when open.  Uniform pants sell out fast. It is suggested that you purchase these early and avoid special ordering.  For special arrangements, please contact Matthew Williams at 215.783.8405.

Girls' Softball Needs!
Posted 2/2/2024
The NEAA (Northeast Athletic Association), formally known as the Northeast Peanut League, now requires softball infielders to wear protective face shields when playing infield positions.  Parents are responsible for the of purchase of this personal protective device.  This requirement is for girls ages 11 years and older.  Talk to your child's coach before the start of the season should you have any questions about this.

2024 Tryout Details are Listed on the Tryouts Page!

Uniform Distribution and Clean Up Day - Saturday April 6, 2024!

Posted on January 23, 2024
Our annual Clean-Up Day will be held on the playing fields at the Fox Chase Recreation Center on Saturday, April 6, 2024.  We will start at 8:00 am and should be completed by noontime.  Please remember to bring work gloves, rakes and brooms.  We will provide the trash bags.  Baseball and softball coaches along with their teams are expected use this time to prepare their playing fields for the start of the season.  Please note, no ball playing or practice is permitted until clean-up has been completed.  Uniforms will be distributed after clean-up has been completed should we received them in time for distribution.  In the event of inclement weather, Clean-Up Day will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 7.  Please contact your coach should the weather be questionable.

Field cleanup day is for anyone that signed up to play baseball/softball and flag football at Fox-Rok.  We encourage all families to come and help since we are all volunteers and get very little assistance from the City.  The fields are filled with trash, debris, weeds and anything else you can imagine.  The club will provide trash bags and some tools.  It would be great if you could bring your own tools such as rakes, shovels, clippers, blower, wheel barrow or anything else you think will help.  We will start at 8:00 AM, but come anytime.  Pease make every effort to come, even if it is only for an hour or two.  It is greatly appreciated.  Below are the fields that you can start at.  The plan is to have a lead at each field, but you don’t have to wait for direction.

Field 9 (lower fields on Borbeck) – T-Ball families

Field 3 (upper fields at top of steps) – Coach Pitch families

Field 4 (upper fields by the pool) – Machine Pitch families

High School & Junior High Field Cleanup Day: Sunday, March 10, 2024
Posted 2/21/2024

We are having an additional cleanup day on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM to prepare the fields for travel tryouts the following weekend.  We are specifically encouraging local high school students looking for volunteer hours, older (12+) Fox-Rok travel baseball and softball players, and JV and Varsity CYO baseball and softball players to come assist in preparing the lower and upper fields and surrounding areas.  Please make every effort to come, even if it is only for an hour or so. Please bring work gloves, rakes and brooms.  To sign up and for more information, please email Michele at [email protected].

Fox Rok Athletic Association would like to thank everyone who volunteered on Sunday, March 9th at our High School and Junior High Student Field Clean Up Day!  We had an awesome showing and we were able to accomplish many goals for the day. It takes people to maintain our facilities throughout the season and we appreciate it very much. We had volunteers who worked on the upper and lower baseball and softball fields, playground, basketball courts, hockey courts, fan bleachers and walkways.  Additionally, we were able to clean out the batting cage area to make way for new equipment. Leaves were raked and bagged and trash, glass and debris were picked up around the entire Fox Chase Recreation Center. We didn’t get to all the field maintenance due to wet fields following a few days of rain, but we accomplished a lot. Our next field cleanup is April 6th to prepare for all teams, home and travel, to take the field. We hope to see you on the 6th and we look forward to players and parents having fun during the spring and summer seasons.  Thank you again!

Ages 4/5:                        Tee Ball (mixed boys and girls) - This is a "Home League."
Age 6:                             Coach Pitch (mixed boys and girls) - This is a "Home League."
Age 7:                             Machine Pitch (boys only) - This is a "Home League."
Ages 7 and 8:                Travel Softball (girls only)
Ages 8, 9 & 10:              Kid Pitch - Home League (boys only) - This is a "Home League."
Ages 9 through 18:         Girl's Travel Softball
Ages 11 through 17: Boys Travel Baseball

We also have "A-Team" boys travel baseball at ages 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16.  See travel tryouts.  Those 17 years and older do not need to try out as we generally only have one (1) team at that age group.
This league is intended for those players who demonstrate above average skill and talent and desire a higher level of play.  You must be a registered player and show up for tryouts to be considered for this level of play.  See "Tryouts" page for more details.

Attention - All Baseball, Softball Coaches and Assistants!

A word of warning concerning field maintenance!  When it rains NEVER push the wet infield soil mix onto the grass!  To do so ruins the field for the remainder of the season.  We have invested thousands of dollars this year on field maintenance, plus numerous hours of time.  To learn how to care for the fields please make it to our monthly meetings!  Also view the details posted on our "Field Maintenance" page.

Concerning Baseball/Softball Registration and Tryouts!

The NEAA (Northeast Athletic Association) league had changed their cutoff date to August 1 for both boys and girls.  Most children go from our home league to the NEAA.  Hence the ripple affect we are were faced with during tryouts.  This is NOT consistent with the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation’s cutoff dates of May 1 for boys.

“Travel” baseball/softball is for those who participate in the NEAA, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and RBI leagues.  Typically there are two (2) games per week.  One (1) game at home and the other game is played away at a neighboring location.

Tryouts are based on the age cutoff date for those who wish play in the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation leagues.  If your child/children does not try out, or if he or she does and is not selected, they will automatically play in the NEAA or the appropriate "in-house" league based on their age.  An example of this would be an eight (8) year old who doesn't make a travel team.  They will play in the "in-house" league.

Tryout details and schedule are listed on our tryout page!

NEAA (Northeast Athletic Association) Code of Conduct!
Those placed on a team that play in the NEAA (Northeast Athletic Association) league will need to read and sign their Code Of Conduct.  Coach, player and parent are to sign it and return to NEAA.  You can download that document here:  neaa code of conduct.pdf

Our league affiliations:

PP&R = Philadelphia Parks and Recreation
NEAA = Northeast Athletic Association (formally known as NEPL)
RBI =     Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (A Philadelphia Phillies league)
