All players must be enrolled to tryout. All player must have glove and rubber (no metal) spikes. We know a big question every year is about bats.  There are bat restrictions for each age group and league.  It is recommended you wait until you child is placed on a team to ask that coach for the league requirements.  Also after tryouts 8, 9, and 10 years who do not make the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation team will be contacted by in-house coach.   In addition, players who do not make12 year old Philadelphia Parks and Recreation team will be contacted by NEAA coach.

If you desire your child to participate on a competitive travel team please plan to attend tryouts at the appropriate times and location as outlined above.  Tryouts are intended for those players who demonstrate above average skill and talent and desire a higher level of play.  You must show up for tryouts to be considered for this level of play.
Those chosen will be placed on a team that will play in the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation League.  Your child must be a registered player for the 2025 season to attend tryouts!

                                                                                                                  Playing Field Location
Our baseball and softball playing fields are located directly behind Fox Chase Elementary School, 600 block of Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111 on the property of the Fox Chase Playground located at 7901-7935 Ridgeway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

Concerning Tryouts!

“Travel” baseball/softball is for those who participate in the NEAA and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation leagues.  Typically there are two (2) games per week.  One (1) game at home and the other game is played away at a neighboring location.

Tryouts are based on the player's age cutoff date (January 1, 2025 for girls and May 1, 2025 for boys) for those boys who wish play in the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation league.  If your child/children does not try out, or if he or she does and is not selected, they will automatically play in the NEAA or the appropriate "in-house" league based on their age.  An example of this would be an eight (8) year old doesn't make a travel team they will play in the "in-house" league.  Whatever age your child is on January 1, 2025 for girls, and May 1, 2025 for boys, that is the age they are trying out for!

Copy of Birth Certificates Are Required For All Travel Baseball and Softball!

All travel players will be required to provide a copy of their birth certificate for the purpose of issuing identification cards by the leagues.  Copies will be needed prior to the start of the season.
